Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Re: Proposed Detached Garage Dear Mr. Donnelly, Thank you for stopping by earlier this week to discuss possibilities related to a proposed detached garage construction project at your residence. Per our conversation, I shared your inquiry about the driveway coming off of your existing and curving over to your proposed new garage location versus closing a curb cut and creating a new one with the City's contract Planner. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be possible given the amount of front yard setback required for the garage and separation needed from the roadway. Additionally, I was advised that by City Ordinance 401.15.F. - Off- Street Parking, single family homes are required to provide for the location of a two (2) stall garage for off street parking. So, even though you haven't had a (2) stall garage at your residence, because you are proposing to construct a new garage, you will be required by City Ordinance to have (2) stalls.
