Dear Mr. Wissink:
Thank you for visiting with us on May 15, 2013 as to Code compliance issues at the above -
referenced business.
Thank you also for having attended to the removal of the temporary (special event) sign that
was in the motorcycle parking area and addressing the bulbs to the building exterior Tight
fixtures to meet full cut off compliance prior to that meeting.
As to our conversations regarding the painted wall sign at the rear of the building and the trash
enclosure, it is my understanding that:
1. If you wish to keep the painted sign to the rear side of the building, you will need to seek
and receive approval for a variance to the number of signs allowed by the City's Zoning
Ordinance. You have been provided with a copy of this application.
Alternatively, it was determined that if you opted to relocate the sign set currently located
to the north side of the building to the rear of the building and paint over the sign that has
been painted upon that side, this would be acceptable and a variance would not be
required. If this option is selected a sign permit is to be obtained and the work
performed by a licensed contractor. Sign and Contractor License applications are
available on our webpage at www.citvofoakparkheights.com.
2. You were in the process of coordinating repair work to the trash enclosure so that the
trash containers could be returned to them. A work permit should be applied for this
work and a permit issued prior to work commencement. The permit should include a
plan for the work being performed to the enclosure for Code and Design Guidelines
review. A licensed contractor should perform the repair work. Once again, permit and
contractor license applications can be found on the City webpage. Once the enclosure
has been repaired the containers moved back inside, they shall remain there at all time,
with the gates closed, except on trash collection day.
Tree City U.S.A.
As per our discussion and City Administrator approval, the compliance deadline has been
extended to Saturday, June 15, 2013.
As of today, I have not heard from you or a contractor as to work to either of these items.
Please be sure to address them immediately so that you can meet compliance as agreed upon.
If you have any questions, I encourage you to contact me immediately.
Sincerely,
Julie Itman, CBO
