The largest study of its kind, the OES is a joint effort of the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and State Labor Market Information Agencies. Study results allow us as anatron -to. identify areas where vocational and educational programs are most needed, to spotlight emerging and declining occupations, and to document average earnings in specific occupations and industries. Though the nationwide response rate is high, good local area data is only available with good participation at state and metropolitan area levels. Your participation helps us give back -to you the type of information most employers ask for: accurate, detailed wage and salary information by occupation and industry at the local level. To make your participation as easy as possible, we have developed six reporting alternatives. Provided that your response includes a job title and wage or salary for each employee, you may choose the reporting option that is most convenient for you. Most employers prefer to send us an existing file because it takes no additional time. We can convert most files to a format we can use. Here is a summary of the six reporting options: • EMAIL Send EXCEL file to OESminnesota @idcf.bls.gov (See statement on fact sheet). • MAIL Return the questionnaire in the postpaid envelope. • FAX Fax your data to 651- 282 -5429. • PRINTOUT Mail an existing payroll printout that includes job titles and wage data. • TELEPHONE Call us toll -free at 888 - 234 -1114, and give us your information. • ONLINE Go to https: / /idcfoes.bls.gov Data from the most recent OES study for the U.S., states, and metropolitan areas are available on the BLS web site: www.bls.gov /oes Go to our website at www.positivelyminnesota.com /oes for Minnesota statewide and area data. All responses are held in strict confidence to the full extent permitted by law. Your data will be combined with responses from other employers and summarized for statistical purposes only. No individual employer's data can be identified. However, the statistical tabulations published by the BLS from this study may reveal information reported by individual State or local governments including State and local owned hospitals and education units. Upon your request, the BLS will hold the State and local government information provided on the - study in confidence as well. Your timely reply also helps cut program costs by reducing the need for additional mailings and telephone calls. If you have any questions, or if we can assist you, please feel free to contact us at 651- 259 -7399 or 888 - 234 -1114 (toll- free).
