Re: St. Croix Valley Dental @ 13961 60th St. N.
Parking Lot Water Run-Off/Erosion to Pondview Condominiums
Dear Dr. Wolff:
Water run-off from the eastern parking lot of St. Croix Valley Dental is traveling north-easterly to the corner of
the parking area and traveling over the low area at that point, into the yard area and down the hillside of
Pondview Condominiums, eroding the hillside as it travels downward bringing silt, etc. into their paved area
and into the stormwater drain.
On July 18, 2012, during a period of heavy rain, both Public Works Director Andy Kegley and I observed the
run-off travel at the site. I contacted your office as to the matter and indicated that this low point in your
parking area required correction to the grade and the installation of a swale at eastern and northern end to
direct the water out to the stormwater drain on 60th St.
On July 18, 2012 I also met on site with your office manager and reviewed the problem, pointing out the low
point. I also walked into the grass area and pointed out the erosion being caused by the run-off from your
parking area. In some areas the soil has been eroded ankle deep. At the time of my visit I also discussed the
need to repair the low area and redirect the parking lot water to 60th St.
With this letter you are directed to address the water run-off and erosion control matter and have corrective
activity finalized no later than September 25, 2012.
Please be advised that until such time the water run-off is redirected to 60th St. and continues to erode the
hillside between your business and Pondview Condominiums St. Croix Valley Dental is in violation of soil
erosion control requirements as established by City Ordinance.
If you have questions as to correction of the parking are slope or water re-direction, please feel free to contact
me or Public Works Director,Andy Kegley.
