It is our intention at Tire Pros and Wheel Experts to be an active, successful, and important member of the community. To accomplish those goals, besides just having good signage we need to have the ability to communicate our commercial offerings at the same time engage the community in a non-commercial manner. Our experience has shown one of the most effective approaches to accomplishing effective communication revolves around effective signage which portray our business as a great and friendly places to do business as well as an engaged member of the larger community. It has been widely acknowledged that the most effective signage form for effective community outreach is the use of Electronic Message Centers, allowing for both commercial communication as well as community based messaging. There is a reason many educational and religious facilities employ this technology to reach their target communities. At the same time we are sensitive to concerns about the looks and feel of our neighborhood and assuring that we do only improve the experience of our neighbors at the same time providing a vibrant commercial environment to provide more jobs and income within the community. The road redesign and construction are having a negative impact on our newly opened business, we seek your help in facilitating the use of proven tools to help us improve the visibility and understanding within the community of what we offer and grow the Tire Pros business. I am providing several documents that have been developed by university research departments and urban planning groups that will help inform of proper use and zoning of Electronic Message Centers which assures safety or esthetic concerns are addressed. We have also included independent studies relative to traffic safety and EMC's for your review. We would be happy to bring in other resources to help inform and educate as to how we can all accomplish our goals. In short we believe this reader board issue is critical to our business, especially during this road construction.. It is definitely causing a financial hardship, we need all the help we can. It can also be stated that there is a plan to offer a % of its use to the Chamber of commerce, community 1 events, and other good causes. Please feel free to browse the attached documents which substantiate the use and benefits of reader boards. Thank you for you consideration in this important matter, Mark Thorsen Director of Operations Tire Pros and Wheel Experts 651-439-6653 2
