Re: Special Event Signage/Display Permit Requirement
Dear Ed:
Just a reminder that that City Ordinance 401.15.G.8 requires a special event permit to
be obtained from the City prior to placing any special event signage or display, including
those placed as temporary advertisement.
On my way home from work at approximately 5:30 p.m., this past Thursday, May 15,
2008, I observed a chrome rim and tire display outside the front of the store. The
advertisement display was placed without a special event permit from the City, violating
City Ordinance 401.15.G.8.
I've enclosed City Ordinance 401.15.G.8 and a Special Event permit application for your
use. Special Event permits are required prior to any placement of advertisement
signage. You may email, fax or drop off the applications to me. There is no charge for
the permit
Though it is certainly not a preferred practice of the City, please be advised that
continued placement of special event signage/display, without a special event permit,
will result in your being cited for City Ordinance violation.
If you would like the City Council to consider amendments to these rules, kindly direct
such comments/request to me in writing or to City Administrator, Eric Johnson. However,
until such time the Council votes to adopt an amendment to this Ordinance, the rules
remain in force.
