Zoning / Development items.
1. The City has received no new applic• '•• 5 33
2. Mr.Tony Otley has requested some additional delay in the removal of his
rear storage structures,you will recall he has a steel kwanzit-hut type jJbW°"j
building and is not compliant. Staff has allowed him to meet the June 10,
2008 deadline along with the nine-or-so other residents we asked to come
into compliance.See his enclosed letter.
3. VSSA is anticipating coming to the City with an application for the issuance
of a refinancing bonds, this will require City Council action on Nov 27th.
City Hall Facility
The City has sent a thank you letter to Dawn DeKeyser of the Andersen Corporation
thanking her for their time as related to the walk-thru of the former Herberger's site.
I have enclosed one email comment from a resident about the proposed
improvements; as this project moves forward I will include any written comments in
weekly notes.
STH 36 St Croix River Crossing Project and Frontage Roads
As requested by the City Council, I have enclosed a copy of the letter to Nick
Thompson discussing the City's position on snowplowing / Mill &Overlay issues.
Enclosed is a copy of the letter as sent by City Attorney to Mr. Nick Thompson
discussing parameters under which the City is able to reconvene discussions for the
completion of an MOU.
State OF Minnesota Issues
• The Legislative Bonding Committee will be in Oak Park Heights examining our
Bonding Request (rehabilitation of the south frontage road) on December
13th, 2007 at approximately 3:15 to 3:45pm. As more information is available I
will let you know.
• See the enclosed two documents from Julie Bunn-Capitol Update and
Health Care Reform and Listening Session.
• Councilmember McComber has advised that there is a press conference
slated to be held by various mayors and other elected officials requesting
that the State consider a special session to deal with the tax bill,
transportation and other issues.This is anticipated to be held at the Capitol
on Thursday, Nov 15th-the time is anticipated to be at, or before, 2pm.
