Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Re: Deck Alterations Dear Don: I noticed that you've been making some alterations to the deck at the rear of your home. Please be reminded that deck work, including repairs, requires a work permit from the City of Oak Park Heights. No work to your deck shall occur without first having received a permit for the same. A permit application has been enclosed for your use. By Ordinance, the City of Oak Park Heights has adopted the Minnesota State Building Code (current edition 2007)and by its reference the 2006 International Residential Code. These codes require that a permit be issued for siding work and that inspections be conducted to verify compliance with the State Building Code and the International Residential Code. Additionally, Minnesota State law requires that any contractor engaging in the activity of construction services to residential properties be licensed by the State of Minnesota. Deck permit fees are based on the project valuation as compared with valuations established for such work by the State of Minnesota. You may pull the permit as the homeowner,as you reside within the home. If a contractor is doing the work, their Minnesota State License shall be provided on y our permit application. Please cease any further work to the residing project immediately and until such time that you remit and received a permit for the work. You may fax, mail or email your applications and accompanying documentation. Thank you for your prompt attention. Please contact me immediately with any questions you may have and/or to discuss the project. Sincerely, Jul e ultman,C.B.O. Pl.n ing&Code Enforcement Enclosure c: Property File
