Dear Chief Swanson:
I apologize for the amount of time that has elapsed between our telephone conversation about
parking tickets and my response, in writing, to you concerning the position of Stillwater Area
High School administration about enforcement of parking tickets. The position, agreed to by
all SAHS administrators, is that all parking and traffic laws and regulations should be
enforced and there will be no requests from us to reconsider tickets that have been issued.
It is our plan to contact your department, in advance, whenever an unusual situation is
anticipated to get advice on the best manner to deal with the possible problems. To this
effect, an announcement was made at a faculty meeting last week. This announcement stated
that all parking and traffic regulations would be enforced and absolutely no one should come
to any administrator asking help in resolving tickets issued because we support the work of
the Oak Park Heights Police Department.
Thank you for the assistance your department has given to SAHS and I trust that this letter of
intention will resolve your concerns in this matter.
Sincerely,
Thomas M. Cole
