Here are some additional comments from Bryant Ficek (one of our traffic
engineers) on the High School Traffic Management and Evacuation Plan.
[Bryant provided the original memo /comments regarding the High School's
Parking & Traffic Assessment study.]

Dennis,
agree with your comment below in regards to operation. I would also ask
if communication between the surrounding neighborhoods and the school should
be mentioned. The neighbors could be used to evaluate how the traffic and
parking management plan worked from their perspective and offer ideas to
improve, if needed. Also, should the City Council be added to the last
section regarding changes and amendments? That way the council could
implement a needed change rather than just the police chief.
Otherwise, I think they covered things well enough and with flexibility,
will have a plan that covers most potential parking and traffic problems.

Traffic Mgmt & Evac. Plan 3 -1 -02
Bryant:
Here is a copy of the Stillwater High School new stadium event traffic
management &emergency evacuation plan. Do what you can to provide any
comments you may have back to me before the end of the day on Monday
(3/4/02). 1 have the following comment based on a very cursory review:
1. Change the "off -Site parking /Shuttle map" route from Stillwater H,S. to
Stillwater Jr. H.S. to access Hwy 36 utilizing Norell Avenue (not continuing
down 58th St. N. to oakgreen Avenue). Norell Ave. is a 4 lane connector
past Wal -Mart, whereas oakgreen is a narrow 2-lane, unlit road (with the
intersection of 58thloakgreen not having the greatest site - distances).
Thanks.
Dennis
