RE: Oak Park Heights - Stillwater Area High School
FILE NO: 798.02 - 99:17
As you are aware, the Planning Commission, at their August 19, 1999 meeting, voted to
approve the School District 831 request for a conditional use permit to allow a parking lot
reconfiguration of the 30 stalls on the existing parking tot and addition of parking stalls
subject to conditions. The conditional use permit was recommended with the five
conditions found as attached.
Representatives of the School District have objected to the exact language in conditions
four and five, as recommended by the Planning Commission. City staff has discussed the
conditions with the School District representatives and would propose the following
conditions for consideration by the City Council at their September 14, 1999 meeting. The
highlighted language represents changes from the Planning Commission recommendation.
1. The curbed island near the west entrance must extend the length of the parking
stalls at the north and south ends of the island.
2. Two van accessible parking stalls should be provided with the new parking at a
location to be approved by City staff.
3. Staff and visitor parking areas must be properly signed.
4. The additional 67 stalls and changes to the median areas to be created by the
addition of paved surface shall be allowed only upon approval by the VaReyBr-neh
City Engineer.
