Chair Eder called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present: Vice Chair Bye, Commissioners Johnson and Weyer, City Administrator Johnson, Public Works Director Kegley, Arborist Widin, Arborist-in-Training Lisa Danielson, and Con-u-nission Liaison McComber. Absent: None. II. Approval of Agenda, Vice Chair Bye, seconded by Commissioner Weyer, moved to approve the Agenda. Carried 4-0. 111, Approve Parks Commission Minutes—...April 20, 2015: Conu-nissioner Weyer, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, moved to approve the Minutes. Carried 4-0. IV. Department/Commission Liaison Reports: A. Arborist: Arborist Widin reported that July 20 would be her last Parks Commission meeting, and her last day with the City would be August 14, Arborist-in-Training Danielson reported that the June pruning and removal list was completed and sent to contractors. She also reported they were working on the tree planting list and the new Tree City USA signs were placed in the City with the updated '33 Years' sticker. B. Public Works Director: Public Works Director Kegley reported they were working on standard maintenance in the parks. He also reported that one of the park attendants was painting the shelter at Valley View Park and the parking lot at Valley View Park was scheduled to be reconstructed that week. C. Other/Commission Liaison RqpqKLs: No report. Vice Chair Bye, seconded by Commissioner Weyer, moved to accept the Department Commission Liaison Reports. Carried 4-0. V. Visitors/Public Comment: None VI. Public Hearings. None VII. New Business: A. Schedule Parks Commission Vacancy Interviews: Chair Eder, seconded by Vice Chair Bye, moved to schedule the interviews for prior to the August Parks Commission meeting and direct staff to re-publicize the vacancy. Carried 4-0, VIII. Old Business: A. Park Shelter Rental Discussion: City Administrator Johnson reported that staff Page 3 of 4 Parks Commission Minutes June 15, 2015 Page 2 of 2 obtained information from surrounding communities on their rental payment practices and policies. He stated most required cash or check at the time of reservation, the fee was taxable, and there was no refund for cancellation. The Parks Commission held discussion and determined it was best to continue to not charge a fee. B. Oak Park Crossing Park Plan: Chair Eder reported that the Parks Commission held a worksession to discuss the feedback. He thanked the residents for filling out the feedback forms. He stated they would continue to sort through the data and figure out the best avenue for the park, and they would continue to meet with different groups in the City. He stated that if people still had comments on the park, they would be happy to hear it. Chair Eder, seconded by Commissioner Weyer, moved to ask staff to request a joint meeting between the Parks Commission and the City Council on Monday, July 20 following the ribbon cutting at Oak Park Crossing Park, Carried 4-0. IX: Informational: A. Oak Park Crossing Park Ribbon Cutting: Monday, July 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. B. Next Meeting: Monday, July 20, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall C.
